Drew Lanza
Morgenthaler Ventures
Prior to joining Morgenthaler, Drew spent 15 years in senior operating positions in the telecommunications industry. He started his optical telecommunications career at Raynet, a pioneering company in the development of fiber to the home technologies. He was also the founding CEO and served for many years as a member of the Board of Directors of Lightwave Microsystems, a leader in design and manufacture of high volume optical integrated circuits. Drew received a BSEE and MSEE from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard.
Stewart Gollmer
Lehman Brothers Venture Partners
Stewart joined Lehman Brothers in 1998 and has been with the Venture Capital Group since 2001. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers Venture Partners, he was a member of Lehman Brothers' Technology Investment Banking Group where he was responsible for corporate finance and strategic advisory assignments. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, he was a corporate attorney. Stewart holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, a J.D. from Brigham Young University and a B.A. from the Johns Hopkins University.
John Glushik
Intersouth Partners
Prior to joining Intersouth, John developed expertise in the information technology sector as a scientist, engineer and consultant. His previous experience includes telecommunications engineering at General Electric, data communications research at M.I.T. and strategy and market consulting at Booz-Allen and Hamilton. John is actively involved in the North Carolina Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), has served as co-chair of the AeA Venture Forum, and is an Adjunct Professor at the Kenan-Flaglar Business School at UNC. He received a B.S. in mechanical engineering and materials science from Duke University, an M.S. in aeronautics and astronautics from M.I.T. and an M.B.A. from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University
Harry Marshall
Armada Ventures
Prior to joining Armada, Harry was Chairman of the Board of Candescent Technologies Corporation, a leading supplier of flat panel displays. Harry also served as President/CEO of Candescent from 1994-1999. Prior to Candescent, Harry was engaged in the venture capital business (Hambricht & Quest, J.H. Whitney) where he was instrumental in the startup and initial product development of a number of companies in the semiconductor, software and information sciences areas. Today these companies generate over $3 billion in combined revenue and employ more than 3,000 people worldwide. He received a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Florida and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
Jim Pastoriza
TDF Fund
Jim joined TDF early in 2004. He comes to TDF having been a founding partner of telegraph Hill Communications Partners, L.P. based in San Francisco, California and a partner of J.P. Morgan Communications Partners, L.P. He also has experience as an associate, and later partner, at AT&T Ventures. Prior to AT&T Ventures, Mr. Pastoriza held operational positions at AT&T and Lucent Technologies. He received a B.S. from Columbia University and earned his M.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Niel Ransom
Dr. Niel Ransom has recently played a strategic role in developing key technologies in the telecommunications industry for over 32 years. His previous experience includes managing an applied research organization at AT&T Bell Labs, serving as senior director for the Advanced Technology Systems Engineering Center at BellSouth, and working at Alcatel in various executive roles, rising to become its Chief Technology Officer. As CTO of Alcatel, Niel was responsible for overall product strategy, standardization, corporate research, M&A strategy, and intellectual property. Niel holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Chicago
James Mongiello
Jim Mongiello has a track record for investing and managing successful networking companies. As a venture partner with Redpoint Ventures and Brentwood Venture Capital, Jim worked closely with a variety of portfolio companies, including TransMedia (acquired by Cisco), Freegate, Lightera (acquired by Ciena), and Vivace (acquired by Tellabs). Prior to entering the venture business, Jim was President and CEO of OnStream Networks, which was sold to 3Com for $254 million in 1996. Before that, Jim was President and CEO of Larscom. Over the last 31 years, Jim has been involved with creating some of the most successful WAN products used in networks today. He attended Lowell University and completed the Executive M.B.A. program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
