RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, September 28, 2012 Overture, the preferred Carrier Ethernet edge and aggregation partner for service providers and network operators worldwide today announced that it has won a People’s Choice Stevie® Award for Favorite New Products in The 10th Annual American Business Awards. The company received the People’s Choice Award for its innovative 1400 Carrier Ethernet platform, which also received a silver award in the American Business Award’s Best New Telecommunications Product category.

“Our service provider customers tell us the Overture 1400 gives them a powerful Carrier Ethernet demarcation solution that helps them drive down the complexity and costs of delivering services.  One Tier 1 service provider customer, for example, was able to launch a  sophisticated portfolio of services while also realizing tremendous savings by using the Overture 1400 in a variety of applications that previously required 9 different products from three vendors,” said Vijay Raman, vice president of product management and marketing, Overture Networks. “We’re pleased to receive this recognition for the 1400 knowing that the product was judged primarily on how well it performs in real world deployments and how it helps our customers build winning service offerings.”

The Overture 1400 is a modular gigabit Carrier Ethernet edge platform that enables ubiquitous Ethernet services from 1Mbps to 1Gbps over both native Ethernet and the existing TDM infrastructure. In its base configuration, the Overture 1400 provides a sophisticated native optical Carrier Ethernet 2.0 demarcation solution with six tri-speed Ethernet interfaces in a rugged temperature hardened platform. When native optical Ethernet is not available at the customer or mobile cell site location, the flexible network interface slot may be populated with SONET/SDH and PDH (DS3/E3, DS1, E1) modules to deliver identical services over existing networks. The Overture 1400 provides a complete toolkit for service differentiation and performance assurance along with the operational savings that comes from a single flexible platform.

The People’s Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite New Products are a feature of The American Business Awards in which the general public can vote for their favorite new products and services of the year.  More than 98,000 votes were cast in 30 product categories in this year’s vote.  All new products and services honored in the ABA’s new product categories were included in people’s choice voting. More than 270 executives nationwide who participated in the judging process this year selected Stevie Product Award winners.
