President and Chief Executive Officer
Mike has had a successful and distinguished career in the telecommunications and information technology industry with over 30 years of experience. Mike joined Overture from Ciena Corporation, where he held a number of executive positions, including Senior VP of Global Field Operations, General Manager of Global Government Solutions, and VP of Americas. During Mike’s tenure at Ciena, the company’s annual revenue grew from approximately $350 Million in 2002 to more than $1.74 Billion in 2011. He also assisted Ciena with the integration of multiple acquisitions, including World Wide Packets and Nortel’s Metro Ethernet Networks business. Prior to Ciena, Mike held leadership positions at ONI Systems (acquired by Ciena), Bay Networks (acquired by Nortel Networks), and IBM Corporation. Mr. Aquino holds a B.A. in psychology from Cathedral College, Queens, NY.
Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President, R&D
Prayson co-founded Overture and brings more than 28 years of experience developing software and hardware for networking products to the Company. He began his career in 1983 at FiberLAN, moved to Bell Northern Research (Nortel) and joined Larscom in 1992. He has extensive hardware/software design and management experience, and served as Director of Engineering at Larscom before co-founding Overture. Prayson is active in standards bodies such as the MEF and IETF, and he was chosen to be the co-editor of the pseudowire emulation edge-to-edge (PWE3) requirements and architecture documents (RFCs 3916 and 3985). Prayson holds a BS in electrical engineering and computer science from Duke University and an MS in electrical and computer engineering from North Carolina State University. He holds nine patents.
Chief Financial Officer
Greg has over 20 years’ experience in financial leadership working with a variety of companies, ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Overture, Greg was CFO at StrikIron, a Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) software company. Previously, Greg was an audit partner at Grant Thornton LLP where he was the leader for the local office as well as serving on firm-wide leadership teams for the technology and financial services industry groups. Greg helped open the Grant Thornton office in Raleigh in 2002 and was part of its growth as it increased from 16 to 80 professionals. Greg began his career at Arthur Andersen. Greg has significant experience in IPOs, mergers and acquisitions as well as public and private placement offerings of debt and equity instruments across a variety of industries.
Greg is a CPA and holds an MBA from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management, where he also achieved a BA in economics.
Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Service
Chris has over 24 years of experience as a senior executive in the global information and telecommunications technology industry. Chris joins Overture from Narus Corporation where he held the position of Senior Vice-President of Sales, Marketing and Delivery. Prior to Narus, he held senior executive positions at Syndesis, Spirent and Hekimian. With a strong customer focus, Chris has led the sale and delivery of over $1.2 billion in technology solutions around the globe. He specializes in helping privately funded start-ups find their market edge and grow into profitable, high-value businesses. Chris has helped generate over $1.8 billion in shareholder value through the sale of his last three ventures.
Chris holds a B.S. degree in Finance and Accounting from Virginia Tech. He has also received executive training from University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and University of Pennsylvania’s The Wharton School.
Vice President, Global Operations & Quality
As Vice President of Operations, Barry is responsible for global operations including all manufacturing, supply chain and logistics functions. He brings over 30 years of experience in senior leadership roles at OEM’s and in the contract manufacturing industry, including Hatteras Networks, EMC2, Celestica and Creation Technologies. Barry’s industry exposure includes telecommunications, infrastructure, industrial controls, servers and data storage with implementations in North America, Europe and Asia. A native of Boston, Barry holds an MBA from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Vice President and General Manager, Overture India
Sunil has had a successful career spanning more than 20 years in leadership roles in the telecom and networking industry. He has extensive experience in building carrier class as well as large-scale enterprise products and solutions. He began his career in 1992 at Motorola Codex, subsequently moving to Cascade Communications. Sunil was a member of the founding team in 1997 at Sonus Networks, a leader in Carrier Class VoIP equipment. He moved to Bangalore in 2005, to setup and lead the Engineering Center for Sonus Networks in India. Prior to joining Overture, Sunil was Director of Engineering at Cisco Systems, Bangalore, where his responsibilities spanned software engineering, product management and sales enablement within the Collaboration Technology Group. Sunil has a B.Tech (Electrical Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and an M.S (Computer Engineering) from Clemson University, SC. He holds 3 patents.
Vice President, Product Management and Customer Service
Houck is responsible for refining and communicating the company’s product strategy, operating Overture’s world-class technical assistance center, and growing the Ensemble enablement services practice. Recently, Reed served six years as vice president of Broadband Network Solutions, Product Management, Marketing and Operations at Tekelec, a leading provider of network signaling, policy control, and subscriber data management solutions that was acquired by Oracle in 2013.Prior to Tekelec, Mr. Reed was Director of the product management team at Symantec. Past experiences include UTStarcom, Alcatel-Lucent, and Hyperion Software. Mr. Reed has his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Chicago and a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from the Yale School of Management.
Vice President, Human Resources
Betsy has more than 25 years of experience in a wide range of human resources positions. Prior to joining Overture, Betsy established and led the human resources efforts for several local startup companies in the technology sector. Her experience includes years of providing consulting services to a broad range of organizations on various human resources initiatives. Before working with smaller, emerging growth companies, Betsy spent almost 10 years at Alcatel Network Systems (now Alcatel Lucent) where she held a number of positions. In her last role at Alcatel, Betsy was the senior director of human resources where she and her team supported Alcatel's North Carolina operations during a period of explosive growth and transition. Betsy started her career in human resources at Data General Corporation (now EMC) after graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BS in psychology and industrial relations.
