Ethernet over T1/E1 Edge and Mini-Aggregation
- Offers 4 and 8-circuit variants
- Bonding up to 8-circuits
- Subtend up to 8 Overture 500s in mini-aggregation configuration
Overview
The Overture 500 series provides a cost-effective solution for bonding multiple T1 or E1 circuits into a single Ethernet connection, delivering over 10 Mbps of Ethernet service capacity to any business customer regardless of rate, reach, or facility availability issues.
The Overture 500 is available as a bookended solution or as a mini-aggregator for low-cost aggregation of up to 8 different customers. For higher density aggregation needs, the Overture 6100 Multi-Service Aggregation Solution can be used to extend Ethernet services to any customer regardless of the intermediate access network.
The Overture 500 series delivers Ethernet services in a compact, economical package that easily scales in capacity and service ubiquity. The Overture 500 comes in 4-circuit and 8-circuit variants, supporting up to 16 Mbps of connectivity (in E1 mode, with 12 Mbps of connectivity in T1 mode). A robust service model including flexible VLAN manipulation, traffic shaping, traffic policing, and hierarchical traffic management allows carriers to guarantee the delivery of multiple services competing for the limited bandwidth over an access connection.
Applications
Business Access – The Overture 500 series enables 1Mb to over 100Mb services as connections to offices typically providing Ethernet services over bonded copper and bonded T1 where there is not fiber available. Typical business services carriers sell are metro Ethernet, dedicated Internet access, IP-VPN and VoIP.
Mobile & DSLAM Backhaul – The Overture 500 series enables 1Mb to over 100Mb services connection to cell towers, typically providing up to 100 Mbps backhaul services carrying both native Ethernet and native TDM with support for network timing synchronization. This product line is ideally suited for enabling high-speed backhaul to mobile cell towers and DSLAM sites that are capital-constrained to be served by fiber.
Multi-Tenant Campus and In-Building – The Overture 500 series enables 1Mb to over 100Mb services for campus and in-building applications. The product line enables carriers to benefit by taking advantage of the existing copper plant on campus or up the risers in buildings, realizing a huge cost savings while enabling high-speed Ethernet services.
Traffic Light/Video Surveillance – The Overture 500 series enables 1 Mb to over 100 Mb services for counties and municipalities who need to increase bandwidth to traffic lights for video surveillance applications where only existing copper plant is available.
