ISG2200

- Fixed port chassis with a single interface slot
- Optimized for Carrier Ethernet over OC-3/STM-1 and OC-12/STM-4 applications
- Support for carrier-class Ethernet and TDM services
- ETSI compliant
- Uses the same interface modules as the ISG 5100
- In-band and out-of-band management
Carriers must be able to deliver a diverse mix of services to all customer locations—regardless of the capacity size or location—across any type of network. Yet in this lean economy, service providers need to deliver these services at a low first-cost, using current infrastructures, while continuing to migrate towards next-generation IP/MPLS networks.
The Overture Networks ISG 2200 is ideally suited to address these challenges by extending Ethernet and TDM-based services to multiple customer locations. Typically deployed at the customer premise, the ISG 2200 can be used as standalone product for single customer applications, or in conjunction with the ISG 5000 for larger sub-tending configurations.
The ISG 2200 offers a combination of fixed configurations and an optional interface card, and provides the same software base and feature set as the ISG 5000, including:
- Carrier-class Ethernet services
- Carrier-class transport of TDM services
- Robust sub-50 millisecond resiliency capabilities
The ISG 2200 gives customers the flexibility to grow and adapt to current and future application requirements by offering fixed configurations for 10/100 Base-T, T1/E1 and Gigabit Ethernet. The ISG 2200 also provides an expandable option slot that can be configured with the same assortment of interface modules as the ISG 5000 to support a variety of multi-service applications. Operators can use the option slot to expand the base port configurations or address new application requirements. The result is a low-cost, single platform that can be used for multiple applications. Using a single platform also means less inventory to manage, while the IP-centric architecture makes it easy to manage and provision. The flexibility of the ISG 2200 allows both carriers and end users to preserve their investment while being able to respond to future requirements.
Application Diversity
The high-performance ISG 2200 edge platform can reach across any type of network (SONET/SDH, Optical Ethernet, CWDM/DWDM, RPR, etc.) to deliver uniform high-speed Ethernet and TDM services to multiple locations, whether located on the provider’s network or off.
Applications include:
- Metro Ethernet Private Line or Multi-Point services
- Voice and Data Private line / Business service
- Cost-effective aggregation rings delivering sub-50 millisecond resiliency
- Network extension via fiber lateral or riser
- Off-net extension via leased line
With the ISG 2200, multi-service traffic can now be transported efficiently and cost-effectively to any customer location – across a single network – instead of having to using expensive overlay schemes.
