Overture_NetworkDiagram_4000cpA powerful, purpose-built Ethernet demarcation platform, the Overture 4000cp can bond up to 24 voice-grade copper pairs to deliver 100s of Mbps symmetrical bandwidth to business customers and mobile towers.  It effectively extends a carriers’ service reach beyond their existing optical switching footprint – increasing the revenue potential while reducing OPEX.  It supports service delivery at speeds ranging from 1 Mbps to more than 300 Mbps over single bonded copper infrastructure.  As with other products from Overture, the 4000cp incorporates automated pair bonding capabilities for 24 pairs at up to 15 Mbps per copper pair to expedite service turn up and eliminate errors typically associated with manual configuration. Overture’s advanced EFM  bonding engine ensures the best rate, reach, and fastest train-up times possible; enabling high-speed Carrier Ethernet services beyond the reach of fiber. The 4000cp product is environmentally  hardened and designed to be deployed at Customer Premise locations.

Overture’s 4000cp is a self-contained service delivery engine. The 4000cp is a purpose-built Ethernet switching and VLAN labeling platform for delivering from 1 to over 100 Mbps of symmetrical Ethernet services over a single-bonded-copper-infrastructure. It effectively extends a carriers’ service reach beyond their existing optical switching footprint – increasing the revenue potential while reducing OPEX.

The Overture 4000cp delivers up to 15Mbps per copper pair and support up to 24 bonded copper pairs and support Carrier Ethernet speeds from 1 Mbps to over 100Mpbs. Even though pairs are bonded together to make a larger pipe, each pair is treated separately so all pairs do not have to run at the same rate. This allows the fastest aggregate bandwidth possible over the total bonding group.

Rapid Service Delivery
With the 4000cp, a carrier can quickly plan the service offering and optimize the copper pair requirements. To simplify the location of the copper pair, the 4000cp supports tone-generation and open/short technologies. To qualify the loop, the 4000cp includes Overture’s TDRplus, an integrated Time Domain Reflectometer. With this technology, a carrier can measure the distance of the loop and analyze the quality of the loop. 4000cp will automatically configure the modulation on the bonded-pair to obtain the highest data rate. The 4000cp has an embedded GUI that simplifies installation and trouble-shooting. Powerful programmable macros accelerate provisioning and prevent errors. The powerful Service OAM, traffic generation, and packet capture features can be leveraged to verify end-to-end performance, trouble shoot service configurations, and ensure end-customer SLAs. Longer term maintenance is simple with advanced tools to monitor Link layer OAM and provide Connectivity Fault Management (CFM).

Carrier Class Features
The 4000cp is NEBS level 3 certified, temperature-hardened, and has full front access to all of its cables. It is 1RU high and it can be deployed in a central office, a controlled environmental vault, or an outside plant remote-terminal. Operators can assign SLAs on each Ethernet Virtual Circuit. It has a comprehensive monitoring system that includes 802.1ag, Y.1731, and IP SLA. It supports VLANs, stacked VLANs (Q-in-Q), Class-of-Service, Quality-of-Service, traffic shaping, and policing. New services can be added to existing customers without service interruption and without the need for a truck roll. The 4000cp is a carrier-class Ethernet switch that extends the carrier’s Ethernet serving area beyond the limited reach of the optical network. It provides a carrier-class architecture that delivers demanding SLAs, cost-effective growth, fast and flexible deployment, and intuitive management tools.
